Our Purpose JMDCA started in the spring of 2008 as a group of concerned citizens opposed to a Gas Compressor Station that Dominion Transmission was considering for construction very close to Jefferson, MD. JMDCA served as a liaison and organizer for the Jefferson Community in all aspects dealing with the proposed DTI compressor site. We are committed to spreading the word about critical events, sharing information, and organizing the next steps to keep our community unchanged. We will work with foundations, organizations, county/state/federal officials, and media outlets to gain support for the Jefferson community. As of November 2008, DTI has withdrawn from the Pre-Application process for a Gas Compressor Station in Frederick County. However, they plan to return with new plans in a few years. We welcome participation from others in the community and suggestions for issues that need community involvement. |
